The Ultrastar DC HC320 Enterprise Hard Drive is designed for large-scale storage infrastructures where high reliability, 24×7 operation and cost-effective capacity matter most. It is ideal for datacenter deployments, archiving large data sets, cold storage, distributed computing and enterprise backups where sustained access and durable performance are required across multiple drives in racks and clusters.

The HC320 series offers high-capacity drives built on a five-disk air platform, utilizing Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) and features such as dual-stage micro actuator for improved head positioning, media cache architecture and optional non-volatile cache enhancements. It supports sustained workload ratings up to 550 TB/year (depending on configuration), includes rotational vibration sensors, offers up to ~255 MB/s transfer rates and comes with a 5-year limited warranty. These features make it well suited for RAID arrays, heavy duty enterprise storage and multi-drive enclosures.
