A helium-sealed enclosure reduces internal air resistance and drag at 7200 RPM, enabling higher sustained transfer speeds of up to 281 MB/s and more power-efficient operation compared to standard air-filled NAS drives. A 512MB cache buffer ensures smooth data queuing and efficient handling of concurrent multi-user read and write requests common in NAS environments. With a 1.2 million hour MTBF rating and a 180TB/year workload rating — up to three times the limit of conventional desktop hard drives — these drives are engineered for sustained, high-load operation in always-on NAS enclosures.
