The dual bay design accommodates two SATA hard drives or SSDs simultaneously — in 2.5-inch (laptop drives) or 3.5-inch (desktop drives) sizes, or one of each — in any SATA I, II, or III generation, making it universally compatible with virtually all standard HDDs and SSDs manufactured since 2003. The offline clone function — activated by a front-panel button — duplicates the source drive to the destination drive completely independently without requiring a connected computer, running software, or driver installation, making it the most convenient method for drive upgrades, data migration, and drive duplication workflows. The USB 3.0 external interface delivers up to 5Gbps theoretical bandwidth for rapid file transfers between the docked drives and a connected Windows or macOS computer — up to ten times faster than USB 2.0 (480Mbps). The intelligent 30-minute auto sleep function automatically spins down the docked drives when no read/write activity is detected for 30 minutes — reducing power consumption, heat generation, and mechanical wear to extend drive service life. Plug-and-play operation requires no driver installation on Windows XP and later or Mac OS 9.1 and later — insert the drives, connect via USB 3.0, and both drives are immediately recognised as removable storage devices. The 12V external power adapter provides sufficient power for both a 2.5-inch and a 3.5-inch drive simultaneously — including high-capacity 3.5-inch desktop HDDs that require more power than USB bus power can supply.
